Runawys from the Gen Art “Fresh Faces in Fashion” Show

November 3, 2009

Bec and I attended the Gen Art “Fresh Faces in Fashion” Show, kicking off Rock Fashion Week LA last Thursday. Here are my top three favorite looks from each collection, including my take on the stylish ladies and gentlemen who could rock these looks.

Seneca Rising-

For the woman who looks so beautiful kicking a guy’s ass he’ll be thanking her for the close contact…

for the woman who’s too hardcore to skip down the street when she’s happy so she rocks the smirk…

for the woman who looks like she has it all on the outside and actually does.

Valerj Pobega-

For the woman of the year…

for the woman who stops traffic when she’s standing far removed, deep in an alley…

for the woman who’s Batman’s secret liaison even though he’d rather show her off.

Rory Beca-

For the woman who doesn’t believe in wanting what you can’t have because she knows she can get everything…

for the woman who paints in the park but always ends up being someone else’s muse…

for the woman who frolicks in the ocean fully-clothed because she loves the way she feels in her clothes that much.

Leyendecker-

For the woman who travels to far away lands physically and whimsically in her mind…

for the woman who gallops alongside her horse instead of riding her…

for the woman who has the strong point of view in a room while being the strongest view to watch.

MG Black-

For the man who kisses you and leaves you, but you actually don’t mind the departure because it’s him

for the man who [dirty] dances with you in the rain…

for the man who makes you back into the corner of an elevator like a shy school girl when he enters leaving you claustrophobic from his smoldering eyes.

Thank you to Plastics Make it Possible for giving me a fresh perspective on fashion and reiterating the notion that you can create fashion with a little ingenuity and the little resources that we may take for granted.

“Leyendecker-For the woman who travels to far away lands physically and whimsically in her mind…”

I love this collection and even though I travel to far away lands more than my head then in real life, I think this line would fit me perfectly.

Also way to rock the red dress!

Yikies, those mouth pieces (are they mouth pieces?!) featured in the Valerj Pobega collection are scary!

I adore the colours in the third Rory Beca photograph, that pink is fabulous.

You look gorgeous in the last photograph, extremely stylish!
