Dressing Avery Feature on Alex Grant

August 30, 2010

At the start of summer, I had the pleasure of dressing a blog friend’s daughter. Virtually, that is. Skip of Alex Grant has a series called Dressing Avery, in which he invites bloggers to create a look for his adorable daughter. Now that we’re near the end of summer, I wanted to re-post it from here to here:

Dressing Avery: Wrecked Stellar

Whenever I think of women’s fashion, the first person that comes to mind is Melanie from Wrecked Stellar. In my humble opinion, she has an eye for style that is on par with SJP, so you can see why I was super excited to have her Dress Avery this week. Take a peek at what she picked out, leave a comment, and maybe Melanie will slip you an invitation to her next virtual slumber party. You might even see Alex & Avery there.

This Princess Linens personalized garden dress from Saks Fifth Avenue is that clean, crisp, and classic look that will have all of the other little ladies eyeing Avery. The personalization of a monogram or name adds that special sense of individualism that is hard to come by in a standalone piece. The dress is in a lightweight cotton piqué with a charming rick rack trim, and with the accompaniment of a matching diaper cover, Avery will be sitting pretty and comfortably in this airy dress.

These Robeez® leather slip-ons from Nordstrom are not only adorable with their polka dotted strawberries, but they also boast a Seal of Acceptance from the American Podiatric Medical Association. They promote healthy foot development with their cushioned footbeds and non-slip suede soles. The strong print compliments the dress with the red connection and additional touch of color in the green.

The best accessory to go with a smiling child is a stuffed animal. This Jellycat soft and cuddly wooly mammoth from Neiman Marcus is the perfect huggable companion.

Thanks, Skip, for having me as a guest blogger! It’s definitely easier when you have inspiration from a beautiful model like Avery!
